More History Bits

The Granite Theatre was purchased in January, 2000 by Paul D. Lynch, President of WesCon Corp. of Connecticut and now President of the Theatre; Thomas F. Black III, President of the Horace A. Kimball and S. Ella Kimball Foundation of Hopkinton, Vice President; and Stewart Pucci of Pucci and Greene Ltd., CPA's of Westerly, Treasurer. The building was purchased for $150,000.

Theatre programs include, Broadway plays and nightclub performances such as caberet acts. In appreciation for the strong community support that the Granite Theatre has received, the facility is now available for the benefit and use of all non-profit organizations.

The Kimball Foundation contributed over $100,000 to the refurbishment of the building. The improvements included the installation of air-conditioning, new carpeting, stadium style cushioned seating as well as numerous other cosmetic upgrades.

Despite the financial backing provided by the Foundation and donations from generous community support, the Granite Theatre is striving to raise additional funds to help run this enterprise. All donations to the Granite Theatre are 100% tax deductible. In turn, your donation will ensure continued quality Theatre productions for all to enjoy.
